MARTHA PULLEN
Hello and welcome!
My name is Martha, and I am a landscape artist based in Charlottesville, Virginia. I primarily paint in watercolor, though I also enjoy gouache, acrylic, and pastel painting. While I’ve always had a love of art and even minored in Studio Art in my college years, I decided to try watercolor for the first time in 2022 and fell in love with the unpredictability of the medium!
My landscapes are full of vivid colors and textures. You will rarely find evidence of civilization in my paintings, and if you do, it’s small compared to the vastness of the landscape. Through my work, I seek to remind the viewer that no matter how noisy or stressful the modern world can be, peace and beauty can always be found in nature.
I am heavily inspired by the Green Mountains of Vermont, where I grew up, and by the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where I have lived since 2018. In my spare time, I love to hike and find inspiration for my paintings! I am also a lifelong musician, and I play the French horn, piano, and electric bass.
Thank you for stopping by my website, and for supporting my passion for art! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to me at mpullenart@gmail.com.
